What Was Tried to Make Prop 8 Succeed?

Hopefully the prop 8 controversy has been put to bed once and for all, with the new Supreme Court ruling, but back in 2008 things were different. The electorate of California was asked to vote and pass the proposition which would legally refuse to recognize same sex unions as marriage.
